This position places you at the center of a collaborative special education team serving students with a range of learning, developmental, and behavioral needs in a Kansas City area school. You will develop and implement individualized education programs, deliver direct instruction in resource or self-contained settings, and work closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to support each student's academic and functional goals. Progress monitoring, IEP meeting facilitation, and ongoing communication with families are regular parts of the work.
The rhythm of the school year brings a balance of direct teaching, planning, and coordination. You will adapt curriculum, track student data, and help build an environment where students feel supported and capable of growth. A valid Missouri special education teaching license is expected for this role.
