Special Education Teacher (K-2) – Contract – Charlotte, NC

Location: Charlotte, NC 28208 (on-site) Job Type: Full-time, Contract Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:15 AM – 4:15 PM Pay: $40 – $50 per hour Start Date: ASAP, through the end of the 2026-27 school year About KindSpire Education KindSpire Education is a special education staffing agency that partners with schools to place dedicated professionals where students need them most. We're currently hiring a Special Education Teacher for a K-2 public charter school in west Charlotte. Position Overview You'll support a caseload of 15–20 K-2 students in a co-teach and resource setting. Disability categories include Autism, Other Health Impairment, Developmental Delay, Intellectual Disability, and Learning Disabilities. Responsibilities Co-teach alongside general education teachers and lead resource room instruction Write and manage IEPs and serve as case manager for your caseload Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and team collaboration Adapt curriculum and instruction to meet individual student needs Requirements Active North Carolina Special Education teaching license (or eligibility to transfer immediately) Experience with IEP writing and case management Experience working with elementary-age students with diverse disabilities Strong collaboration and communication skills Preferred Experience in co-teach and inclusion models K-2 or early childhood special education experience Interview Process Virtual screening, then an in-person interview with a demo lesson.
